Abstract: To increase the agility of contemporary enterprises and reinforce the adaptability of WfMS for the changes in business processes, we proposed a knowledge-based workflow system model, and discussed the frames construction and knowledge representation of the workflow model. Using the knowledge representation scheme and dependency predicates, we built a change propagation mechanism to increase the soundness and flexibility of workflow system. Lastly, this idea was applied to the development of process planning management system. The results showed that the knowledge-based workflow system model has certain application value to implement the automated business process.
