Abstract: We present the architecture of Design Repository, which plays an important role in improving the function of CAD system. Design Repository is a digital design information environment that provides the necessary information and help for engineers. It is managed by multi-dimension data structure based on the product-centered relational database system. With Web-based “Product Develop Wizard”, the navigation, share and exchange of knowledge are realized. With the help of Design Repository, engineers can use the virtual manufacturing software tools to develop knowledge-based and information-integrated product cooperatively.
