Abstract: Aiming at case-based similarity retrieval in Computer Aided Process Planning(CAPP), the hierarchical retrieval strategy and application on process case oriented to scalable batch manufacturing was proposed from the aspects of overall information, parts features, production batch and equipment resources. Through hierarchical representation and organization of process knowledge, hierarchical similarity matching with certain threshold value, level by level process cases filtering was realized, the most similar process case with the requested parts was finally obtained. This strategy overcome the flatness of case process retrieval and realized the reuse of case process knowledge on different levels. Practicability and feasibility of this strategy was verified in the cylinder of diesel engine.
