Abstract: Discrete-event simulation is an important method to evaluate and improve business processes. The key issue for business process simulation is to establish simulation models. In this paper, an IDEF3-based simulation modeling method and the relevant software tool, Easy IDEF3TM, are introduced. With the support of this method, the necessary simulation information can be collected and described in a formalized way, and the description is based on the communication oriented IDEF3 method. Thus, it can help the modeler create business process simulation models more easily and rapidly.
